Tinder bio: what to write so she actually replies (with 10 real examples)
«Just ask» isn't a bio, it's a closed door. Here's how to write a bio that starts the conversation on its own.

The bio is the part of the profile everyone underrates, and it decides more matches than you think. Photos make the thumb stop. The bio decides whether, after the match, she writes something or leaves you there.
We've rewritten hundreds of bios. These are the things that always work, and the ones that never do.
The three bios that never work
«Just ask». Nobody asks. You're asking a stranger to do the work for you.
The list. Travel, music, movies, good food, sports. Everyone wrote it. It says nothing about you, it says you're a person who exists.
The CV. Engineer, 6'1", Libra, loves his family. You're on Tinder, not LinkedIn.
What a good bio has to do
A bio that works does two things, and only two:
- Gives one specific detail that makes you a person and not a category.
- Leaves an easy hook to write you something.
Two lines are enough. Three is the max. If she has to scroll, it's too long.
10 bios that worked
These are real bios, from real clients, changed just enough for anonymity. Each one got more replies than the bio before it.
- I make carbonara better than your grandma. Yes, yours too. Light provocation, a topic everyone has an opinion on. Reply guaranteed.
- I have a dog called Gino who has more followers than me. The dog always does its job, but the name makes it real.
- Looking for someone to watch Torino games with me. You need to know how to suffer. Self-deprecating, specific, and the filter is already a conversation.
- Green flag: I reply to messages. Red flag: I reply too much. Honest, funny, and says you won't vanish.
- I'm the guy who asks the waiter «what do you recommend» and then orders the same thing every time. One flaw told well beats ten strengths.
- I've watched every season of The Office three times. It's not a brag, it's a confession. Anyone who did the same writes you immediately.
- I can't dance but I try anyway. Fair warning. Says you can laugh at yourself. People date the ones who make them laugh.
- Gym yes, but I can talk about other things. Like how much I hate the gym. For guys with sporty photos: defuses the «he'll only talk about protein» effect.
- Been living in Bologna two years and I still can't figure out the city centre. Be my guide? Asks something concrete, easy to say yes to.
- If you open with «hey how are you» I'll reply, but know that you could've done better. Flips the most common problem and sets the tone of the chat.
The detail rule
Look at the ten bios above. None of them says «I love travelling». All of them say something only you could say: a name, a team, a dish, a city. The detail is what turns «some guy» into «this guy».
What to do now
Take your bio. Delete everything anyone could have written. What's left is your starting point. If nothing is left, that's fine: it means you're starting from zero and not from below zero.
If you want, we'll rewrite it for you. It's the part of the Diagnosis clients thank us for most.
